Immaculate Conception

This piece is a larger one. It is a meditation on the mysteries of our existence. The image on the right is of nerve cells in the brain. The image on the left is of the cave paintings in Lascaux, France. The nerve cells reminded me of horses running, their manes in the wind as they rush by in a herd. The animals in the paintings mirror that sense of motion, and the palettes match. I fused the two images, both interior, one very large, the other very small, to try to express how vast the human imagination is, and how numerous are the wonders of our life here.
